Should the tour you’ve booked be cancelled due to Government restrictions eg. border closures or hotspots you will not lose your money. Wanderlust Australia Tours will be happy to transfer the money to a future Wanderlust Australia Tour, or if you prefer, refund your money.
Some 3rd party suppliers for instance Journey Beyond (who operate The Ghan and Indian Pacific), airlines and some hotels will give a credit (not money) for the same service to be used at another date. Please note: this is for tours that are affected by government regulation. Refer to below conditions for tours cancelled by you for any other reason.
Our general terms & conditions of bookings
To book your holiday, simply pay a deposit of $ 500.00 per person which is payable within 7 days of booking.
Your Wanderlust Australia Tours final payment due is 60 days prior to departure.
What happens if you cancel your booking with us
Cancellation at any time... | Cancellation at any time must be given by written notice.... |
Cancellation fees and charges prior to final payment... | Loss of booking deposit |
After final payment received... | Loss of booking deposit, loss of any non-refundable payments made to 3rd party suppliers, loss of any cancellation fees levied by 3rd party suppliers. Any remaining balance will be refunded you. |
What happens if you cancel your booking on the Indian Pacific & The Ghan train tours with us
If you’ve booked a Wanderlust Australia Tour using Rail Holidays, including Indian Pacific and The Ghan, your final payment due is 100 days prior to departure.

Cancellation fees and charges prior to final payment: | Loss of booking deposit |
After final payment received | Loss of booking deposit, loss of any non-refundable payments made to 3rd party suppliers, loss of any cancellation fees levied by 3rd party suppliers. Any remaining balance will be refunded you. |
Tours which are cancelled by Wanderlust Australia Tours
Occasionally a tour may need to be cancelled by us. If this happens, any monies you have paid will be refunded in full. For more details view our full terms and conditions.
